- φ6~
- Industry
- Aircraft, gas turbines, and other industries requiring 3D shape machining
- Processing method
- Oil-based Fine Hole EDM
- Feature
- This process involves drilling coolant pass-through holes in carbide or HSS blades/tools.
Center-through machining using tools with coolant holes, such as end mills and taps, provides high chip evacuation and coolant effect on the machining point.
Machining can be performed on various cutting tools/tools such as square end mills, ball end mills, special shape general cutters, taps, and threading cutters.
To utilize these machined cutters/tools, it is effective to use with high-pressure coolant.
Since processing is performed using a fine hole EDM machine that uses oil-based oil, the effect of surface alteration layers can be reduced as much as possible, and holes can be drilled much cleaner than when water-soluble oil is used.
We will also report how much of an effect it has on the required hole diameter to be drilled and processed.
